Winter and Spring Family Photos

Back in 2012 I took photos of the twins when they were tiny newborns. This time they were back for Christmas/family photos.  We tried some outside first, but it was pretty cold so we came inside for a few more photos.  It's a little cramped in my studio built just for newborns and 1 year olds but I tried my best.  I wasn't completely satisfied so we did some more photos last weekend now that the snow is all melted away and it is warming up.  It was much more fun running after 3 fun little characters in the forest.  I really didn't get them sitting still for very long (again) and there were alot of funny photos but I guess it is showing their personalities anyway. I love the light in the forest.  Even on a really bright sunny day it was just the perfect diffused light.
Enjoy!

A Funfair & a Wedding

I am sure I have said it before how much I like a challenge.  I think people can easily sit in their comfort zone and do what they know works.  And it does work, again and again.  Me I get bored easily and want to do something exciting and something that might be a little scary/fun.  No I am not talking about sitting on a ferris wheel, although that said, taking photos while spinning around is something else! But being in a place full of people, bright sunshine that you didn't plan on, slushy icy mud that you kind of half expected.  That is putting me way out of my comfort zone! And I like it. I just have to think more!  I also had an amazing couple that liked the idea instantly and made a 5 minute ceremony at Tinghuset (registry office) a little more exciting.

I was so happy to be included in the ceremony at Tinghuset this time as I hadn't been there before.  It was very nice with big windows, candles and a lovely atmosphere, even if it was flourescent lighting.

I had a picture in my head that I could place the couple directly in front of the ferris wheel for this amazing photo, but this year they had another ride right in front of it and there was a bit of chaotic mess around that I did not expect and did not make for such nice photos unfortunately.  So I was rather disappointed about that.  Still we got some nice photos there and then went to Myntgata which is a lovely old street in Kongsberg with galleries and museums.  Here I got the couple alone for a little more romantic photos.
Congratulations Rashaad and Andreas! Thanks for a lovely afternoon.
Enjoy!

Homesession in Sweden

Well it's been 4 months since my last blogpost! Christmas was busy and then the whole family was sick.  I had the worst flu of my life so hopefully we are done with sickness for a long time now!
One of my dearest friends Annica had baby number 3, 4 weeks ago, and winter break gave us a great excuse to get to Sweden and see him and his big sisters.  I just worked out I have been friends with Annica for 20 years next year!! I am not sure how that is possible as I am not much older than that! ;-) hehe!
Little Vide was of course asleep for quite a while when we were busy with the bigger kids and then when it was his turn for photos he was awake for a long time.  So I got serious and did my baby whispering thing, along with his mamma feeding him and we had a sleepy little baby to work with. Oh but the light was nearly gone! It was nice to do a homesession and use different rooms in the house.  I just followed the light and ended up in the kitchen where it was beautiful low light. It is also nice to do homesessions as I get to use what is available in the home.  I didn't expect to use the cane chair but there it was and it was a perfect backdrop for some photos.
Congratulations Annica and Andreas on your beautiful baby boy!
Thanks to Kari Hagen of KADE for letting me use her beautifully hand knitted baby clothes.  They were perfect!
Enjoy!
